David Ornstein has revealed that Arsenal boss Mikel Arteta is a big fan of Leicester City midfielder Kiernan Dewsbury-Hall.

The winter transfer window is almost over, and Arsenal haven’t signed anyone. Things will surely be different in the summer, and Leicester star Dewsbury-Hall could become a target for us.

David Ornstein says Arsenal boss Mikel Arteta is a big fan of Kiernan Dewsbury-Hall

Arsenal were suddenly linked with a move to sign Kiernan Dewsbury-Hall a few days ago.

The 25-year-old midfielder is having a fantastic season in the Championship for Leicester. He has scored 10 goals and provided nine assists so far, and he is definitely one to keep an eye on.

Arsenal will need to address the midfield in the summer. Thomas Partey, Jorginho and Mohamed Elneny are all on the wrong side of 30, and two or even all three of them could leave at the end of this season.

We will need to bring in a new central midfielder then, and David Ornstein has just claimed that Mikel Arteta is a big fan of Dewsbury-Hall.

Speaking on The Athletic’s Deadline Day Live show, the journalist said: “It was a really surprising one when I broke it, we know how fundamental he is for Leicester’s title charge.

“Profitability and Sustainability is why Leicester were open to somebody leaving to balance the books, and it’s not a surprise to me that clubs were looking at Dewsbury-Hall, not only Brighton, Brentford were in the mix.

“Arsenal really like him, Mikel Arteta is a fan, the same with Marco Silva from Fulham.”

Dewsbury-Hall is an interesting option for Arsenal

Arsenal will almost certainly be on the market for a new midfielder in the summer, and Kiernan Dewsbury-Hall is a very interesting option.

The 26-year-old can play anywhere across central midfield. He can score goals, provide assists and has the experience of playing in the Premier League.

It’s understandable why Arsenal like Dewsbury-Hall and Arteta is a big fan, but signing him in the summer will not be easy as it is looking very likely that Leicester will get promoted back to the top-flight.

If that happens, we won’t be surprised if his valuation will be higher than the reported £40 million.
