Newcastle United star Alexander Isak is the subject of interest once again heading into the January transfer market, with plenty of teams admiring his ability.

Arsenal are one team linked with a transfer for Isak, with the side in desperate need of a clinical centre-forward.

The Swedish international is certainly one of those, recently scoring his first hat-trick for the Magpies in their 4-0 thrashing of Ipswich Town.

That won’t have simmered down any talk of a transfer for Alexander Isak joining Arsenal, who could face an exit if his side are desperate for sales over the January window.

Alexander Isak transfer latest amid Arsenal interest

After scoring another three goals, Isak has become the talk of transfer interest yet again, with Arsenal naturally linked.

Speaking after the game, Newcastle boss Eddie Howe was quizzed on the future of the striker, giving a clear response.

He told TalkSPORT: “Yeah I am [confident Isak will stay at Newcastle]. I think we’re trying to build, I say many times every transfer window that comes round, we’re trying to build.

“And I think this window for us is probably more about getting the best out of the players that we have rather than looking externally. I don’t see us doing huge business, incomings, so it goes without saying, we want to keep our best players.”

The report does state, however, that Newcastle are facing increasing pressure to commit to some sales in January to help ease their Profit and Sustainability concerns.

With a few big names in their squad, a huge sale could see someone like Isak become available for a potential deal.

It remains to be seen whether that will be the case though, with Arsenal one of the teams who could pounce on the opportunity.

Alexander Isak’s injury record

One thing that has concerned many when it comes to signing Isak is his injury record, which has been a real problem.

With a huge fee likely to be paid for his services, the 25-year-old would have to be available to make an impact.

Plenty of games have been missed in the eight years of his senior career so far, with nearly a year of action missed.

It’s something Arsenal will be very aware of and vary wary of, ahead of any potential deal.
