Bruno Guimaraes has been one of Brazil’s best players at this World Cup.
Only Michael Olise has more assists than his four at the tournament.
His personality, tenacity, and technical ability have been on full display in North America, and Arsenal fans do not need much convincing that he is exactly the kind of player their club needs.
And now the Gunners have been told what it will take to get him this summer.
💰 Bruno Guimaraes is turning 29 in November and has TWO years left on his contract… How much should Arsenal pay to sign him?
What Arsenal must do to sign Bruno Guimaraes
Speaking on the Everything is Black and White podcast, Newcastle Chronicle insider Lee Ryder outlined the situation.
“We broke it on Chronicle Live yesterday that Newcastle’s intention was very much to keep Bruno,” he said. “The not-for-sale sort of tag was there again.
“But by the same token, on the other side, I’m still being told that Arsenal are still in there. And it’s very early in the window.
“And if a bid was to come in, then that could leave Newcastle with a decision to make, especially if Bruno turns around and says I don’t want to be here anymore. And that’s the dangerous fact for Newcastle.”

Ryder also explained how the World Cup is affecting the speed of any resolution. “Bruno’s kind of in this bubble where he’s at the World Cup, he’s focused, he’s not going to be talking externally about his future.
“I wouldn’t have thought Newcastle would be badgering him to get information at the minute.
“So yeah, for me, if Bruno does become the recipient of an offer or an approach from Arsenal, then that could change things again.”
Arsenal are said to be confident that £65million is enough to get a deal done, but Newcastle say he is not for sale.
A formal bid, however, may change things, particularly if Bruno’s head was to turn. Arsenal just need to make their move.
Arsenal cannot afford to wait much longer on Bruno Guimaraes
Some pockets of the Arsenal fanbase are already criticising Andrea Berta for the lack of urgency in the market.
Sandro Tonali is going to Tottenham after the Gunners turned him down over wage demands and agent fees.
Now, Jeremy Monga is heading to Manchester City after Arsenal dithered over a £3-4million difference in fee.
The window is still early, as Ryder points out. But putting in a formal offer now, before Bruno returns from the World Cup and before other clubs potentially enter the picture, would test Newcastle’s resolve.
It’s imperative Mikel Arteta can get his main targets in early, particularly given the fitness concerns surrounding Declan Rice, Bukayo Saka, and William Saliba heading into next season.
Get them in for pre-season and used to the tactical system and help alleviate the burden on their key players so they can recover properly after what was a gruelling season.
