Arsenal are set for a busy summer transfer window.
Injuries have hurt the Gunners big time this season. At no point in the entire campaign has Mikel Arteta had a fully fit squad available at his disposal.
Arsenal will hope for better luck next season, but they will have to bolster their squad and have more options available in case they have injury issues again.
Among several areas Arsenal need reinforcements in is out wide – Nico Williams is Arteta’s top target in that position.
Arsenal target Nico Williams’ salary demands
Williams has been linked with Arsenal for a long time now.
The Spain international is a fantastic player. He starred for La Roja in Euro 2024 and was one of the biggest reasons why they won the tournament.
In the upcoming summer window, there will be a lot of interest in the winger, and reports have claimed that Arteta has asked Andrea Berta to sign Williams before anyone else.
But, the finances involved could complicate the deal.
Williams’ release clause is set at around £50 million, which The Sun describes as ‘cheap’ for Arsenal, but there is another big problem.
The report claims that the Spanish attacker could demand wages as high as £250,000 a week to leave Athletic Bilbao this summer.
Whether Arsenal would be prepared to pay such a high figure for someone who has never played outside Spain remains to be seen.

Arsenal are working on five other wingers ahead of the summer transfer window
Arsenal never only have just one target – the Gunners always have backup options.
Williams would be a fantastic signing if they can get him in, but he is not the only one on Arteta’s shortlist.
Arsenal Insider exclusively revealed that Arsenal are working on six wingers ahead of the summer transfer window.
Barcelona’s Raphinha is high on the list, but he isn’t going anywhere, while West Ham’s Mohamed Kudus is someone Arsenal like as well.
The other three are AC Milan’s Rafael Leao, Brentford star Bryan Mbeumo and Atalanta’s Ademola Lookman.
