Arsenal have announced the signing of Noni Madueke from Premier League rivals Chelsea.

The Gunners are looking to add to their attacking repertoire this summer and have kicked off their recruitment in that department with the 23-year-old England international.

Madueke arrives in a deal worth £52m, an initial £48m fee with £4m add-ons as Andrea Berta continues his spending.

Arsenal have already secured the services of Martin Zubimendi and Christian Norgaard in midfield and Madueke joins Kepa Arrizabalaga as the second signing from London rivals Chelsea.

Arsenal announce the signing of Noni Madueke from Chelsea

Madueke will now compete with Bukayo Saka in the Gunners squad with his preferred position being on the right flank and cutting inside on his stronger left foot.

Chelsea deployed Madueke on the left wing towards the end of last season and enjoyed some success, so there is the suggestion that he could also provide competition for Gabriel Martinelli there.

While Arsenal fans have given mixed reviews about the signing, there is no doubting that Madueke has the pace and power to add value to Mikel Arteta’s attacking line up.

Consistency has been something that the 23-year-old has struggled to find in recent seasons but under Arteta’s guidance, his career could be about to take a positive spin.

Noni Madueke could be the first of three attacking signings at Arsenal

Madueke is not the only attacking signing that the Gunners are working on after their woes in front of goal last season.

Arsenal struggle to break teams down and a total of 14 draws really cost Arteta’s side in their quest for the title.

Viktor Gyokeres is set to sign for Arsenal from Sporting Lisbon as the club finally look to end their long search for a number nine.

Eberechi Eze is also more ‘likely’ to join than Real Madrid star Rodrygo but if the Gunners can add one of those two targets, their squad is looking far more healthier to challenge on all four trophy fronts next season.
