Arsenal are set to get an up close and personal look at transfer target Viktor Gyokeres in the Champions League ahead of a clash with Sporting CP.
The Gunners have shown interest in the striker in recent months, following an impressive run of form in Portugal for the striker.
The 26-year-old has scored 24 goals in 19 appearances across all competitions this season – which includes a hat-trick against Manchester City in the Champions League.
With their need for a centre-forward, Arsenal’s transfer links with Gyokeres come as little surprise, but they may have to put their admiring goggles away for one night.
That’s because Arsenal play against Sporting CP in the Champions League league phase, where the striker will be looking to punish his suitors.
With that interest being in the public, the Portuguese side’s coach Joao Pereira gave his thoughts on the situation.

Joao Pereira gives verdict on Viktor Gyokeres transfer before Arsenal clash
While Mikel Arteta was coy about Gyokeres’ potential Arsenal transfer, Sporting CP boss Joao Pereira was far more happy to discuss the striker’s future.
When asked about the Swedish forward putting himself in the shop window with his performances, he told the media, via Mais Futebol: “I hope Viktor Gyokeres puts in a great performance and scores goals, I’m not afraid of anything.”
It’s a brave stance, considering Gyokeres has already impressed in the Champions League, while one of his suitors could now see him show his ability live and in person.
Given how impressive the Arsenal defence is, if the striker does manage to rattle the backline, it may show just how good he really is.
At over six foot tall, plenty of pace and a finish in his locker too, Arteta may have no choice but to trigger the release clause of Gyokeres in January.

Arsenal scouting mission could extend beyond Viktor Gyokeres
Sporting CP’s model, much like many of the big Portuguese clubs, will often see them turn a profit on players by turning them into big name stars.
Manuel Ugarte, Bruno Fernandes, Matheus Nunes and Pedro Porro are just a few to name in the Premier League who benefitted from their time in Portugal.
In that case, Gyokeres may not be the only star that could be part of a scouting mission on Tuesday evening.
Ousmane Diomande is a possible option for the future, with the 20-year-old becoming a regular at centre-back in recent seasons.

With just over two years remaining on his contract, the Ivory Coast international could be a huge future option to scout.
Eduardo Quaresma, Morten Hjulmand, Geovany Quenda and Conrad Harder may be another few to keep an eye on.
