Arsenal are stepping up their summer transfer window plans, as they look to bolster the squad at Mikel Arteta’s disposal.

Andrea Berta will be looking to add in some key areas, with a striker, a winger, a midfielder and a backup goalkeeper among the priorities.

Top of the list for Arsenal is a centre-forward, following a few transfer windows without adding a proven goalscorer to the ranks.

While plenty of links have come and gone, Arsenal’s interest in Viktor Gyokeres seems the most concrete heading into the summer.

The Gunners could swoop to land the star from Sporting CP, solving plenty of the problems that they currently face in front of goal.

The Swedish international isn’t the only one on the radar, however, with more of his teammates also being assessed by Arsenal.

Arsenal want Ousmane Diomande and Francisco Trincao, as well as Viktor Gyokeres, from Sporting CP

Arsenal’s interest in Viktor Gyokeres has seen them travel to watch plenty of Sporting CP, keeping tabs on how they have been performing.

While the Swedish striker is on their radar, so too are two of his teammates, with Record reporting that Ousmane Diomande and Francisco Trincao are of interest.

It’s claimed that Arsenal recently visited Portugal to scout the trio, all of whom are targets for Andrea Berta.

Diomande, a central defender, has a release clause in the region of £68,000,000, though reports from the Express have previously claimed that he could leave for less.

The 21-year-old has been a regular in the backline over the past few weeks, with just two years remaining on his contract.

As for Trincao, the 25-year-old also has just two years left on his deal and has been an impressive force for the Portuguese side.

Former Wolves boss Bruno Lage, who managed the winger, previously said of him: “In addition to being a kid with great quality as a player, he is a man who is very easy to joke around with, it is always a tremendous atmosphere,

“I have never seen him like this; he almost always played for us, he always helped us at Wolverhampton.”

Ousmane Diomande and Francisco Trincao’s record at Sporting CP

While the record of Viktor Gyokeres speaks for itself, it may be a bit tougher to pinpoint just how good his Sporting CP teammates are.

For Trincao, his struggles at Wolves could well put teams off a return to the Premier League, despite his decent numbers in Portugal.

At 25 years old, he is approaching his peak and could be an option for some, though it’s unclear if Arsenal will make such a move.

As for Ousmane Diomande, the 21-year-old still has plenty of his best years ahead of him, having impressed at centre-back.

With 45 appearances across all competitions, the Ivorian international has kept 17 clean sheets this season.
