Arsenal haven’t been too good with free-kicks over the years.

Declan Rice’s stunners against Real Madrid at the Emirates are still fresh in memory, but besides that, the Gunners haven’t scored many memorable ones in recent seasons.

At the academy level, however, Arsenal had a free-kick maestro named Michal Rosiak, who netted multiple exceptional strikes from the dead ball outside the box.

Arsenal had big hopes for the Pole a few years ago, but he has now left the club.

Michal Rosiak confirms he has left Arsenal

Michal Rosiak joined Arsenal’s academy back in 2016.

The youngster is naturally a defensive midfielder, but he filled in at right-back on several occasions for the youth sides over the years.

Rosiak was a fine player, and as we said above, he scored a few excellent free-kicks as well — one against Manchester City in the FA Youth Cup springs to mind.

Now, Rosiak has left Arsenal, and the youngster posted a lovely farewell message to everyone at the club.

“After a long and memorable journey, it’s time for me to step away from Arsenal,” a part of his post on Instagram read.

Many Arsenal academy players wished Rosiak well in the comments, including Myles Lewis-Skelly. He replied with a couple of heart emojis.

Jack Wilshere once explained how Michal Rosiak mastered free-kicks

Free kicks are one of the hardest skills to master in football.

The likes of Andrea Pirlo, David Beckham and Lionel Messi were true greats over the dead ball, but there aren’t too many other names you can hail as the best.

Rosiak is definitely not a free-kick great yet, but he possesses the incredible skill of finding the top corner with his dead balls.

Jack Wilshere once gave an insight into Rosiak’s free-kicks after watching him score a stunner for the U18s.

He said: “He’s a great example to the players because he practices and practices.

“Of course, there are other sides to the game you can practice, but he puts in serious dedication to his craft of taking free-kicks. He actually tried a bit of a different technique today but it was unsavable. A great goal.”\
