Arsenal could be tempted to sign another former Manchester City player before deadline day this summer.
Mikel Arteta has taken great inspiration from his time at Manchester City, with the captures of Oleksandr Zinchenko and Gabriel Jesus reflecting that.
With time in the summer transfer window ticking down to deadline day, Edu could be tempted to repeat a similar feat once more.
The gap between City and Arsenal has decreased over the past two seasons, with one signing being capable of closing the distance for good.

Pep Guardiola has told Arsenal why they should sign Raheem Sterling
The player in question is Chelsea outsider Raheem Sterling, whose future in West London has spiralled to a point of no return.
Enzo Maresca doesn’t see the 29-year-old in his plans, leaving Sterling training alone with his squad number passed on in what has been a shocking week for the Englishman.
Arteta should capitalise on the winger’s situation at Chelsea, with a player in there who could help the Spaniard deliver the Premier League title to North London.
Guardiola’s former praise of his player reinforces exactly why Edu must approach Sterling before deadline day.

The City boss described the forward as “unbelievable”, honing in on his contribution to City’s achievements during his time at the club, via Manchester City’s official website.
“Unbelievable, he was there, especially in the first season, we could not think about what he would achieve with us,” Guardiola explained.
“He was an incredibly important player with us. His contribution was massive. His speed, his movements, he was a great player.”
By Guardiola’s own admission, Sterling is a player capable of winning a club the Premier League title, which should prompt Arteta to recruit the 29-year-old.
Signing Sterling would be a surprise but a blessing for Arsenal
The 2022 captures of Zinchenko and Jesus added quality and experience to Arsenal both on and off the pitch, as the bar was raised to accommodate the duo’s expectations.
Like Sterling, the pair won four Premier League titles at City, telling of their experience and knowhow when it comes to winning the league.
While some would turn their nose up at the prospect of signing Sterling, who has a Transfermarkt market value of £30m, there’s little to suggest that the winger’s time at the top level is up.
Arteta wanted to sign Sterling last summer, as 90min reported, with the Englishman going on to end the 2023/24 campaign with 18 goal contributions in all competitions for Chelsea.
Guardiola showered praise on his former player for the role he played in delivering success to City, with the Spaniard’s acknowledgement surely something that will inspire Arteta and Edu to consider recruiting him.
