The January transfer window is a complicated one for most teams, with difficulty in landing players for good value.
For Arsenal, that’s even more the case, with teams either charging huge premiums for transfers mid-season or refusing to let them leave full stop.
With plenty of key areas that need shaking up at the Emirates Stadium, it makes a few big deals extremely unlikely.
That said, there may be some opportunities for Mikel Arteta to strengthen his squad options if chances arise in the weeks ahead.
It remains to be seen who is available, but there could be some circumstances complicated by existing players in the squad.

Neto and Raheem Sterling impact on Arsenal transfer business
With Arsenal looking to take to the market with some potential deals, there is one factor complicating any deals.
One of those surrounds the capability to complete loan moves from other Premier League teams, due to existing members of the squad.
The duo of Raheem Sterling and Neto – on loan from Chelsea and Bournemouth respectively – means that no other loans can be completed from other sides in the league.
According to The Athletic, it has become a “complicating” factor in the January window for the Gunners, though there is still the possibility of landing other loans from different leagues.
The pair, who joined under Edu Gaspar in the summer, have struggled to make an impact so far this campaign in a backup role.
There may be a few other opportunities available to Arsenal though, depending on how the market unfolds.

Who could Arsenal sign in the January transfer window?
While Arsenal are looking to strengthen in the weeks ahead, it may be difficult for the team to add many bodies through the door.
A centre-forward is on the radar, but it is unlikely that any of the top targets will be available and at a good price in January.
That’s not to say that some deals won’t be out there, as a few bargains could be available as shown in recent years.
Leandro Trossard and Jorginho are two examples of players who were signed for cheap in January to help the squad.
While they aren’t guaranteed starters, they have added depth and some much-needed quality at times when they have needed it.
Who the equivalent may be this window remains to be seen, but it could be another big winter for the side to bolster again.
