Football website 90min claimed a couple of weeks ago that Arsenal had made contact with Manchester United to sign Donny van de Beek this summer.

It is safe to say, that got supporters really excited. The Dutchman has had a torrid time at Old Trafford ever since he moved there from Ajax last year. He has failed to nail down a starting spot, but everyone knows that he’s still a hugely talented player.

Arsenal’s interest was music to fans’ ears, but it was always unlikely. We all thought that United would never even consider selling him to a direct rival, but things are now reportedly different to what we imagined two weeks ago.

Manchester United are open to selling Arsenal target Donny van de Beek

ESPN have revealed today that the Red Devils are ready to sell their midfielder this summer. It’s claimed that if a realistic offer lands on their table, they will consider it, and that’s a huge boost.

To add to the above report, Italian outlet FC Inter News revealed that van de Beek is open to offers as well, but his priority is to stay in the Premier League or move to a big club in La Liga.

Both Real Madrid and Barcelona are busy with their own targets, while the Dutchman doesn’t really fit Atletico Madrid’s system. That gives English clubs a huge boost, and Arsenal should go all out for his signature.

Donny van de Beek would be perfect for Arsenal

Arsenal are desperate for a central midfielder who has the quality to chip in with regular goals. We’ve missed a player like that since Aaron Ramsey left the club, but if Edu moves quickly, we can finally fill that void by signing van de Beek.

In his final season at Ajax, the midfielder scored 10 goals and provided 11 assists in all competitions, while in the campaign before, he managed 17 and 13 respectively. That’s 51 direct goal contributions in two seasons, which is a mind-blowing record.

Arsenal simply cannot find a better central midfielder this summer than van de Beek. He is everything that we’re looking for, and with Manchester United now ready to entertain offers for him, the Gunners cannot miss this opportunity.
