According to L’Equipe, as relayed by GFFN, French champions Paris Saint-Germain (PSG) are keen to sign reported Arsenal target Seko Fofana.
The Gunners have been in the market looking for a new central midfielder. We saw in the back end of last season how difficult it can be when Thomas Partey isn’t available for us in the middle of the park.
That’s one of the reasons why Mikel Arteta is so keen on strengthening that area, and Lens star Fofana has been a target for the Gunners for a few months now. Sadly, it doesn’t look like Arsenal stand a chance.

Kylian Mbappe wants PSG to sign Arsenal target Seko Fofana
The French newspaper claim that PSG have are in direct contact with RC Lens to discuss a move for Fofana in this summer’s transfer window.
The Parisians’ new Football Advisor, Luis Campos, truly believes that the Ivorian midfielder would bring the dynamism required in that number eight role to help PSG improve massively in the middle of the park.
The report further claims that Arsenal and Newcastle United made their interest known in Fofana, but the player wants to stay in France, and what better club to join than the best one in the country.
The outlet also reveals that PSG superstar Kylian Mbappe and his father, Wilfrid, are also extremely positive about the club getting a deal done to bring in Fofana in the coming weeks.

The Insider’s View:
Fofana would’ve been a really good signing for Arsenal. The 27-year-old was named as the best player in Ligue 1 in 2021 by GFFN ahead of the likes of Mbappe, Neymar and all the other superstars at PSG.
The outlet’s chief writer, Adam White, explained that it was a simple decision to pick Fofana and described him as ‘most consistently high-level performer in Ligue 1’ in 2021.
“He manages to play midfield enforcer, creator and dynamo all at once, it’s quite incredible,” White further claimed.
All those qualities would’ve been perfect in Arsenal’s midfield, but sadly for us, it looks like he’s on his way to join Mbappe and co at PSG in the coming weeks.
