French giants Marseille are considering a move to sign one Arsenal player this summer.
The Gunners are yet to make any significant moves in this window. David Raya’s loan has been turned into a permanent deal, which is a transfer everyone knew was going to happen.
All eyes are on who else Edu Gaspar and Mikel Arteta will bring in, but quite a few players could be moved on as well before the window shuts in August.
One of them is now attracting some surprising interest from Marseille, who are now managed by former Brighton and Hove Albion boss Roberto De Zerbi.
Eddie Nketiah’s stance after Marseille eye move to sign him
Eddie Nketiah does not have a future at Arsenal.
The Englishman came through the ranks as one of the best players in the Gunners’ academy, but he just hasn’t been able to produce the goods on a consistent basis in the first team.
With Kai Havertz and Gabriel Jesus available at Arteta’s disposal and Arsenal linked with moves to sign multiple strikers, there is a big chance Nketiah will leave the club in this window.
A number of sides are said to be interested in the striker, with reports claiming that Premier League trio Crystal Palace, Fulham and Wolves are all keen to sign Nketiah.
Now, FootMercato reveal that Marseille are studying the possibility of signing Nketiah this summer as De Zerbi looks to strengthen his new side’s attack.
The report claims that the first exchanges have already taken place between the Ligue 1 side and Nketiah, and the Arsenal man is open to making the move to Marseille.
Nketiah’s current contract at Arsenal expires in the summer of 2027.

Arsenal have set an asking price for Nketiah
History shows that Arsenal are terrible sellers. It is an area that the Gunners, as a club, really need to improve after years of disappointment.
In the summer of 2023, Arsenal managed to make one impressive sale – Folarin Balogun to Monaco for an initial £25.7 million with add-ons potentially pushing that fee up to £34.3 million.
Nketiah is much more accomplished than Balogun, so Arsenal should be looking to make more money on him than what they managed when the USMNT international was sold.
Edu plans to do just that!
Graeme Bailey exclusively told Arsenal Insider that Arsenal have set a £40 million price tag for Nketiah this summer, which is a fair fee considering he is an England international with loads of Premier League experience.
It will be interesting to see if Marseille will be able to meet Arsenal’s demands for Nketiah in this window.
