TalkSPORT pundit Gabby Agbonlahor has urged Arsenal manager Mikel Arteta to sell as many as 10 players when the summer transfer window opens in July.

The Premier League season is about to come to an end and barring an absolute miracle, Arsenal will finish second. It’s a shame as we spent such a long time on top of the table, but what this young side has achieved is nothing short of remarkable.

The focus after the final game next week will be on the summer transfer window. As fans, our eyes will be on the incomings, but there will be quite a few players leaving too. Agbonlahor says 10 Arsenal players should be sold.

TalkSPORT pundit Gabby Agbonlahor names the 10 Arsenal players Mikel Arteta should sell this summer

Arsenal have a number of players who could be sold this summer.

Our starting XI, as things stand, is a predictable one, and almost all of them will be retained. A few substitutes could be shown the door, but a big number of our loaned-out players are set to depart on a permanent deal.

Agbonlahor decided to name all the players Arsenal boss Arteta should get rid of this summer, and it’s a big list – he has 10 names there, and a case can be made to sell each and every one of them.

The Aston Villa hero said on talkSPORT: “The players that I would sell are Xhaka, Pepe, Lokonga, Smith Rowe – I’ll be looking at £30 million-£40 million, he’s come back from his injury, he has not played much, you could get a good lump of money if you sell him.

Balogun, I’d sell him, Mari, Cedric, Tavares, Holding and I wouldn’t want to sell Tierney but there’s been talk that Newcastle are after him. So if that’s where they are looking, you let Tierney go to Newcastle.

“And I say Arsenal need to go out and sign seven players.”

The Insider’s View:

Agbonlahor has got most things right on his list, but we’d rather keep hold of a couple of those players.

Emile Smith Rowe is definitely one of them. The Englishman was one of our best players last season and the only reason he hasn’t been on the level this term is because of injuries. Selling him this summer shouldn’t even be considered.

Kieran Tierney is another player we’d rather keep. Yes, the Scotsman can’t play Oleksandr Zinchenko’s role as well as him, but he’s a much better defender and he’s full of quality. Selling him would mean strengthening our rivals, which should be a no-go.

It will be interesting to see what Mikel Arteta and Edu will decide in the coming weeks.
