Benjamin Sesko is a target for Mikel Arteta and Arsenal.

The Gunners are in need of a new centre-forward, but a big move in the winter transfer window seems more and more unlikely with each passing day.

Like every Arsenal fan, we would also love to see Arteta sign a new striker this month, but a summer transfer is a lot more realistic.

Sesko will definitely be a target for Arsenal in the summer if they don’t sign a big striker in this window.

How much will Benjamin Sesko cost Arsenal in the summer?

Arsenal have wanted to sign Sesko for over a year and they tried last summer.

Arteta went toe-to-toe with several other clubs for the RB Leipzig star’s signature, and there was optimism that the Gunners could get him.

Sadly, Sesko rejected Arsenal and everyone else. He stayed at Leipzig and agreed to extend his contract there until the summer of 2029.

Arsenal’s interest in the Slovenian hasn’t gone anywhere, though. They are still very keen to sign him, and he is set to be available for a bargain fee in the summer.

The Mirror reveal that when Sesko signed his new contract at Leipzig last year, there was a ‘gentleman’s agreement’ between the player and the club.

That agreement was that Sesko would be available for just £60 million in the summer transfer window.

Leipzig will not sell Sesko in this window unless a crazy bid arrives, but in the summer, he is expected to be moved on for the above-mentioned figure.

What is Sesko’s actual transfer value?

Arsenal know that the striker market is always the most difficult one.

The big names will cost massive money – Newcastle want £150 million for Alexander Isak, who is also a target for Arsenal.

Sesko at £60 million would be a bargain. He’s 21, nowhere near his prime and he has the potential to become one of the best strikers in the world in the coming years.

To add to that, his current transfer value, as per CIES Football Observatory, stands at €116.6 million (£98.5m). To get him for nearly £40 million cheaper makes it a no-brainer for Arsenal in the summer.

However, we’re sure that many other clubs will be in the race to sign Sesko at the end of the season.
