The Arsenal legend is one of the greatest players to ever grace the game, and people still speak about how good a player he was back in the day.
Henry is now a pundit when he isn’t managing, and some of his analysis is a level above what we usually hear from the likes of Jamie Carragher and Gary Neville.
Now, the Frenchman has hailed one of Arsenal’s biggest targets this summer – Julian Alvarez.

Thierry Henry says Arsenal target Julian Alvarez can do everything
Alvarez is right up there with the best players in the world right now.
The Argentine was already magnificent at Manchester City, but he has gone to a whole new level since making his move to Atletico Madrid.
In two seasons there, Alvarez has directly contributed to 66 goals in 106 games in all competitions, which is a fantastic return.
That is why Arsenal want to sign Alvarez, and it looks like they have Thierry Henry’s blessing.
The legendary Frenchman is arguably the best judge of strikers out there, and he seems to be a massive fan of the Atleti star.
Speaking on Rio Ferdinand’s YouTube channel, he said: “I like Julian Alvarez. I like nines that can do virtually everything.”
This isn’t the first time Henry has heaped praise on the Alvarez. He did so a year ago while speaking on the Stick to Football podcast.
He said at the time: “I will be honest with you. One of my favourite nines out there at the minute is Julian Alvarez.
“We’ve been talking about it. Putting pressure, playing alone, low, whatever you want to do. Did you see the free-kick he scored the other day? He can hold the ball long.
“He played at the Olympic Games, he played the Copa America. I don’t hear him saying ‘I’m tired, I’m not tired’. Hopefully nothing bad is going to happen to him, (but) he played everything. The way he plays, I just like him.”

Alvarez is as complete an attacker as they come.
The Argentina international can play anywhere in the forward positions as well as in a number 10 role. He is a relentless presser, works very hard off the ball and is the perfect Mikel Arteta player in that sense.
On the ball, Alvarez is extremely dangerous. He can score a variety of goals from inside and outside the box, and he is a fantastic free-kick taker as well.
Henry is right, Alvarez is a striker who can do absolutely everything, and it is no surprise that Arteta is so keen to sign him.
However, whether a deal can be done in this window remains to be seen.
