Arsenal and Tottenham are going head-to-head to land one transfer target this summer.
After a period of quiet at the Emirates on the transfer front, there appears to be some movement.
Arsenal are set to sell Leandro Trossard to kickstart their summer sales, which will, in turn, free up funds and space to put attention back on incomings.
It’s no secret that Mikel Arteta wants Arsenal to sign Eberechi Eze, but the 27-year-old’s future isn’t guaranteed to be in N5.

Tottenham know Eberechi Eze wants Arsenal transfer
What is concerning is that Eze could end up down the road in N17, as Tottenham have revived their interest in the Crystal Palace dynamo.
Though Arsenal remain in contact with Eze’s representatives, Spurs have an advantage in that they’re prepared to act fast to beat their rivals to the deal.
The Gunners’ focus remains on selling and, despite the understanding that their neighbours are ready to buy, Andrea Berta knows he has one advantage.
The advantage is something Spurs are also aware of, as journalist Ben Jacobs reported.
In an update on Tottenham and Arsenal’s interest in Eze, Jacobs noted that Spurs are ‘aware’ that a move to the Emirates is the player’s preference.
That being said, Eze has by no means overlooked the project Thomas Frank is building, with the two North London clubs in a position to scrap it out for the playmaker’s signature.
Arsenal might have more time due to Spurs’ valuation of Eze
Though Jacobs made it clear that Arsenal’s rivals are ready to ‘move quickly’, there could be some leeway for Berta to exploit.
That’s because Spurs value Eze around £55m, which is £13m short of the price Palace are demanding.
Being a player Oliver Glasner dubbed ‘unbelievable’ after Eze’s star showing against QPR in the Carabao Cup in September 2024, Palace won’t be bending the rules when it comes to their superstar.
Berta knows what Palace want for Eze, with the Eagles demanding a first payment in the region of £30m to release their star player.
With the understanding that Eze wants Arsenal, and that Spurs are ready to close in, all eyes are on Berta’s next move.
