Arsenal are not expected to be busy in the January transfer window, but there could be a few surprises.

The Gunners usually do most of their business in the summer. They brought in five players in 2024 – David Raya, Riccardo Calafiori and Mikel Merino on permanent deals and Neto and Raheem Sterling on loans.

Although fans want Mikel Arteta to sign one or two top-quality attackers in the winter window, Arsenal are not expected to spend big money in January.

However, there could be a sale that might force them to dive into the market.

Jakub Kiwior has told his agent to get him out of Arsenal in January

Jakub Kiwior joined Arsenal in January 2022.

The Pole was brought in to be a backup to Gabriel Magalhaes at left-centre-back and Oleksandr Zinchenko at left-back, and he has played in both roles.

Kiwior, hailed as ‘unbelievable’ by Ally McCoist, is not a bad defender by any means, but he is not going to be the first-choice at Arsenal. William Saliba, Gabriel and Riccardo Calafiori are all ahead of him in the pecking order.

The former Spezia man has received significant game time recently in Gabriel’s absence, but he returned to the bench on Saturday against Everton.

Now, Il Matino have revealed that Kiwior has had enough of being a substitute. He wants to play regular football and has instructed his agent to accelerate his Arsenal exit.

The Pole’s representatives, according to the report, are set to arrive in Italy to find their client a new home.

As things stand, Antonio Conte’s Napoli are favourites to sign Kiwior – a meeting has been set between the Partenopei and the player’s camp.

Arsenal already know who to sign to replace Jakub Kiwior

Kiwior was never a very important player for Arsenal, but the Pole offered multiple options to Arteta. He was a very useful player to have in the squad.

If he does leave, Arsenal should dive back into the market for a replacement.

There are many names the Gunners could go for, but we think they should make a move to sign one of their former targets – Jorrel Hato.

Arsenal were heavily linked with a move to sign Hato before he signed a new contract at Ajax. Like Kiwior, he can play at left-back as well as in the heart of the defence.

We think he would be the ideal man to replace Kiwior.
