Arsenal have emerged as contenders to sign Bruno Guimaraes this summer.

It is no secret that the Gunners want to strengthen their midfield in this window, and several big names have been linked with a move to the Emirates.

The likes of Ayyoub Bouaddi, Sandro Tonali and Alex Scott, among others, are said to be of interest to the champions.

However, none of them will elevate Arsenal’s level quite like Guimaraes would, and he has a few friendly faces at the Emirates already.

Bruno Guimaraes’ Instagram Story when news about Arsenal’s interest emerged

News about Arsenal’s interest in Bruno Guimaraes broke out of nowhere on Thursday evening.

Tottenham’s push to sign Tonali had been dominating the headlines, with Newcastle rejecting Spurs’ second offer for the Italian.

However, at around 6 pm, the Daily Mail claimed that the Toon are expecting a bid from Arsenal for Guimaraes in this window.

That raised the excitement levels among Gooners, and some of them quickly opened Guimaraes’ Instagram story to see what he was up to.

At around the same time as when the news broke, the Brazilian reposted Gabriel Magalhaes’ story, which was a picture of the two of them from their recent win against Scotland.

Guimaraes captioned the image as “Big Gabi” and followed it up with a heart on fire emoji.

That may well have been a coincidence, as the two players are currently together with the Brazil national team, but the timing is definitely interesting.

Bruno Guimaraes would make a serious difference at Arsenal

Arsenal have had fantastic midfielders in recent years, but there has been a problem.

Since Granit Xhaka left the club in 2023, none of their central midfielders have been quite as progressive with the ball as he was.

Guimaraes will instantly change that.

The Newcastle United star isn’t just capable of driving forward with the ball himself, but he is also a phenomenal passer and could create chances from deep.

That is exactly what Arsenal need in the middle of their park, which is why we think Guimaraes would be a sensational signing this summer.
