Arsenal have reportedly decided on how much they plan to offer Crystal Palace for Eberechi Eze.

Wednesday night saw David Ornstein make himself even more popular among Arsenal fans with a very positive update regarding their pursuit of Eberechi Eze.

Tottenham appeared to be leading the race for Eze for a while, but Arsenal have now made their move for Eze in the wake of Kai Havertz’s knee injury, according to Ornstein.

Now, BBC Sport journalist Sami Mokbel has reported how much the Gunners are looking to bid for the Crystal Palace star and what is “already in place” in the Eze deal.

Agreement in principle ‘already in place’ as Arsenal plot £60m offer for Eberechi Eze

On Wednesday evening, Mokbel corroborated Ornstein’s report over Arsenal launching a move for Eze.

Mokbel then reported that, according to BBC Sport sources, Arsenal will offer “around £60million” for the England international.

The report also noted how talks between Tottenham and Eze had been “progressing positively”, but no agreement has been reached involving Spurs.

Better still, Eze reportedly wants to join Arsenal before the transfer window closes on 1 September.

Mokbel then shared a follow-up post in which he urged fans to “expect Eze to be an Arsenal player” with things “moving very quickly”.

Indeed, an agreement in principle is “already in place”, according to the BBC Sport journalist.

What Eberechi Eze would bring to Arsenal

Over the past few weeks, Arsenal fans have made it known that a new left-wing option was a necessity.

And now, with Havertz set for a stint on the sidelines, signing Eze would be an absolute no-brainer for Arsenal, as the Palace ace is a superb attacking midfielder.

“Whatever his role, he will look to find the space to impose maximum damage to the opposition with the sharpest efficiency,” Mark Carey wrote in The Athletic.

“In the modern game, those who can break a player-for-player press with a drop of the shoulder or a driving run forward have never been so valuable – opening up the opposition structure with a moment of individual quality as the dominoes begin to fall.

“Eze also has the ability to thread a pass forward when spaces open up in front of him, making him a double threat in the attacking third.”
