Arsenal may be keen on signing a winger this summer, and previous links to Bayer Leverkusen star Jeremie Frimpong have now resurfaced.
Frimpong was outstanding for Leverkusen as he helped them win an undefeated domestic double and reached the Europa League final alongside former Arsenal star Granit Xhaka.
Both Xhaka and Frimpong recently played against Arsenal as Leverkusen were thrashed 4-1 in the Emirates Cup.
Leverkusen appear set to keep most of their core squad, but some key performers may end up departing, and Frimpong is one who appears destined to leave given the long-standing interest in him from several clubs.
Jeremie Frimpong was linked with a £34m move to Arsenal, having played at right-back, right-wing back and on the right-wing in the front line, but his release clause expired. However, there has now been a new development.

Bayer Leverkusen star Jeremie Frimpong spotted wearing Arsenal kit
Frimpong has caused a stir on social media as a video has emerged of the 23-year-old wearing this season’s Arsenal home kit.
This may have been a shirt he collected at the Emirates Cup, but nevertheless, it does indicate that he has a soft spot for Arsenal at the very least.
The 23-year-old was outstanding last season, scoring 14 and assisting 12 times in all competitions, and it is easy to see why Arsenal were interested in Frimpong.
Could Jeremie Frimpong be an option for Arsenal this summer?
Frimpong’s release clause has expired, meaning his price tag could be significantly higher, and it seems that an Arsenal move is unlikely.
Arsenal are in the market for a winger to add speed to their attack and provide support for Bukayo Saka, and Frimpong could be a surprise solution in this position.
Although predominantly played in a more defensive role, Frimpong does have a strong eye for goal and a lot of creativity in his locker, and would add a different profile to Arsenal’s attack.
However, if Arsenal were to follow up on their reported interest, they would have done so earlier in the window before his release clause expired, and it seems highly unlikely that they will make a move for him now.
