Iconic former striker Thierry Henry has thrown down a challenge to one Arsenal transfer target.
Arsenal are known to want to bolster their attacking contingent before Transfer Deadline Day passes.
The Gunners have been linked with a number of potential additions in this part of the pitch, including the likes of Ivan Toney, Viktor Gyokeres, Dominic Solanke, and Victor Osimhen, amongst others.
Benjamin Sesko rejected Arsenal earlier this summer, but Mikel Arteta won’t have given up on adding to his strikeforce. However, if the North London club are to bring in a new goalscorer, it needs to be someone who can truly compete with Gabriel Jesus and Kai Havertz and take the club to the next level.
Signing Osimhen would represent a real statement of intent, and with Eddie Nketiah set to leave Arsenal there could soon be room for the Nigerian superstar at the Emirates Stadium.
However, the 25-year-old won’t come cheap. Napoli want £101m for Osimhen, and for good reason. The forward is a talismanic figure for the Serie A outfit, and one of the most exciting strikers in world football.

Arsenal legend Thierry Henry has made demand of Victor Osimhen
Osimhen has proven himself in Italy, most notably in the 2022/23 season, when he fired Napoli to a historic title triumph with 26 league goals in 32 outings.
Now, Thierry Henry wants to see the 35-cap Nigeria international test himself in a different environment.
Speaking to CBS Sports Golazo, in a video shared to their official Facebook page back in February, the Arsenal legend said: “He showed last year what he could do.
“He won African player of the year along the way.
“I would like to see him now, what can you do in the Premier League?”
Presumably, the Frenchman would like to see Osimhen prove his ability to shine in the top flight of English football as an Arsenal player.
What Osimhen would bring to Arsenal
Whilst Havertz and Jesus certainly have their qualities, it is fair to say that neither is the most prolific of strikers. Osimhen, meanwhile, is a killer in the penalty area, and would make Arteta’s side more efficient in the final third.
The Gunners had the best defensive record in the Premier League last season, but were outscored by Manchester City, who ultimately claimed the title. Having a pure goalscorer such as Osimhen in their ranks could make all the difference for Arsenal in the race to be crowned champions this time around.
