Arsenal star William Saliba is attracting transfer attention in the transfer window, with Real Madrid amongst those eyeing a potential deal.
The Frenchman has impressed since rising to prominence in the ranks at the Emirates Stadium, growing from a promising option to a stalwart in the team.
Arsenal gambled on William Saliba’s ability while at Saint-Etienne, paying a £27million fee for the centre-back at the time.
Loan spells at Nice and Marseille followed, where the youngster grew into a towering defender at the top level.
Mikel Arteta threw him into the team, where Saliba hasn’t missed a beat since, becoming a guaranteed starter.
That has naturally seen some transfer interest in the star, which seemingly won’t go away.

Real Madrid hold talks with William Saliba agents over Arsenal transfer
William Saliba has been linked with a transfer to Real Madrid, with Los Blancos keen on strengthening their backline.
The 23-year-old has shown some impressive moments in his early career so far, with an expectation that he could get even better.
With that in mind, Sport reports that Real Madrid have put Saliba as their top target while communications with his entourage have been “positive”.
While a move could be on the cards, there would be a huge cost for the move, with over £100million quoted for any switch.
It’s unclear exactly whether a move could go through, with his current contract running until 2027 with the Gunners.
It may put pressure on a new contract being in discussions, otherwise a move could be forced through for Saliba.

Arsenal must open new William Saliba contract talks
With Saliba entering the final two years of his contract at Arsenal, it may be time for the club to open up talks over a new deal.
The Frenchman has clearly been one of the standout stars in the team and losing him in the transfer market would be a huge blow.
An extended contract would give the Gunners far more strength over his future in the window, while he would be likely to stay for longer.
If Arsenal want to continue battling at the top, they must throw everything at keeping hold of Saliba.
