CalcioMercato.it revealed yesterday that Italian giants Juventus have joined the race to sign Arsenal star Granit Xhaka after the midfielder’s spectacular performance for Switzerland against France in the Euros.
Jose Mourinho’s AS Roma have been heavily linked with a move for the Swiss international, but they are trying to bring his price down. Edu has no interest in budging on his demands, and that has stalled the deal.
With Juventus now reportedly in the race, Roma are no longer the favourites. The Old Lady will play in the Champions League next season, and Xhaka will have more chances of winning titles in Turin than in Rome.

Juve have been working really hard to sign Manuel Locatelli. He is their number one target, but Sassuolo’s £34 million demand is proving to be a bit too much for them. As a result, they’ve turned their attention to Xhaka, and that is excellent news for us.
Juventus signing Xhaka could help Arsenal sign Locatelli
Multiple reports have claimed in recent weeks that Locatelli wants to join Juventus as well, but if the Bianconeri sign Xhaka, they will no longer need the Sassuolo midfielder, who has been a real star at the Euros for Italy.
That could open the door for Arsenal, who have also been heavily linked with a move for Locatelli. Gazzetta dello Sport even claimed that the Gunners are ready to pay the £34 million that Sassuolo are looking for, and that would really be incredible.

Locatelli is one of the most exciting midfielders of his age in the world. He is absolutely brilliant with the ball at his feet, has the ability play in different systems, and as he’s shown at the Euros, he can chip in with a goal or two as well.
He would be brilliant for us and some Arsenal fans really believe that Edu can sign Locatelli if Xhaka goes to Juventus.
