Ethan Nwaneri shows maturity beyond his years with classy gesture to one young Arsenal fan

Ethan Nwaneri is already making quite a name for himself at Arsenal.

There has been excitement about Ethan Nwaneri at Arsenal for some time.

After all, when Mikel Arteta handed him his first team debut back in 2022, he became the youngest player in the club’s and Premier League history.

This season, though, the 17-year-old has truly made a breakthrough, and is now well on his way to establishing himself in the first team picture at the Emirates Stadium.

Nwaneri made more Arsenal history on Wednesday evening as he produced a stunning goal from range against Preston North End in an EFL Cup clash. The teenager became the youngest player to score in each of his first two starts for Arsenal.

Despite his youth, Nwaneri has coped impressively with his transition into the limelight.

Nwaneri has been commended for his maturity in the past, and he certainly has a wise head on his shoulders. 

He also seems to appreciate what he means to the club’s supporters. As a Hale End academy graduate, Nwaneri will always be beloved by Arsenal supporters whilst he represents the club.

The England under-19 international was able to delight one young Arsenal fan at Deepdale Stadium.

As reported by journalist Amy Lawrence on X: “A short story. This little lad, Lorenzo, aged 7, chose to make this sign today. He took it to the game. Ethan’s dad spotted the sign and called the boy over at the end of the game. He made sure Lorenzo got his wish. Lovely!”

What next for Ethan Nwaneri?

The next step for Nwaneri to take is to start a Premier League game. This milestone surely cannot be far away.

The teenager has shown that he is ready to compete at the highest level, and has the right mentality for it. With Martin Odegaard still sidelined by injury, the opportunity to bring Nwaneri into the team exists now.

Nwaneri’s personality has been praised, and his attitude and character commended. He deserves the opportunity to truly strut his stuff in the Premier League, and can be trusted to take that chance.
