Arsenal clinched a 2-1 win against Wolves to keep them top of the Premier League; however, at full-time, Jurrien Timber reacted like the Gunners had lost the match.

The Gunners claimed a huge three points at home to Wolverhampton Wanderers; however, the visitors really made them work for the victory.

Who was Arsenal’s most disappointing player vs Wolves?

Bukayo Saka helped force two own goals from Wolves’ players, with Sam Johnstone and Yersen Mosquera both turning the ball into their own net.

But Arsenal will come away from the clash at the Emirates Stadium bitterly frustrated that they nearly threw the win away, and Timber’s reaction said it all.

Performance levels have slightly dipped in N5 over the last fortnight, following points dropped against Chelsea and Aston Villa, which has allowed Man City to close the gap on them.

Jurrien Timber looked gutted Arsenal lost their clean sheet against Wolves, which Mikel Arteta will love, as it shows the standards of his team.

Fan footage showed Timber and Piero Hincapie looking dejected after the full-time whistle about conceding so late in the match. Meanwhile, Saka slammed the team’s performance after the game.

In their last four matches, Arteta’s team conceded four times, which will be frustrating for them, considering they only gave up six goals in their first 12 matches.

The Gunners conceded a poor goal against Villa last week, and against Wolves, it was another avoidable error which almost cost them.

Imagine you are Mikel Arteta. What would your message to Arsenal players be after that performance vs Wolves?

Currently, Arteta is not getting much time to work with Arsenal’s defence in training, given the hectic schedule.

Hincapie struggled against Wolves, and right now, he is struggling to deal with the intensity of the Premier League, it seems.

Gabriel Magalhaes being injured and William Saliba spending time on the sidelines has also been a big blow for Arsenal’s defence.

Mikel Arteta must move Jurrien Timber back into the right-back slot

Following Ben White’s latest injury against Wolves, Arteta must now look to move Timber back into right-back.

The Spanish manager is running out of options in defence, but it’s clear that with White injured, the Dutch defender should be moved back to his favoured position.

Timber has been brilliant at right-back for Arsenal, and it’s been to the team’s detriment that he has been unable to play there recently.

Meanwhile, Martin Keown suggests Riccardo Calafiori should be played in central defence, with Hincapie remaining at left-back.
