Declan Rice scored a stunning goal for Arsenal against Newcastle United in the Premier League, which has led to Gunners fans making an ‘obvious’ claim about the England international.

Arsenal emerged victorious against the Magpies at the Emirates on Sunday afternoon, thanks to a Declan Rice screamer.

On a day when Arsenal target Alexander Isak was absent, it was the Gunners’ £105m man who stole the show in the Premier League clash. Like he has for most of the season.

This has led to Gunners fans all making the same claim about him – which is hard to disagree with.

Arsenal fans claim Declan Rice is Arsenal’s player of the season

After yet another glorious strike, Arsenal fans do not doubt that Rice is the player of the season for the 24/25 campaign.

One writes: ‘Honestly, not many things have made me happy as an Arsenal fan this season, but watching Rice absolutely excel for us ever since Arteta moved him to the left-side eight role has been amazing. What a player. Worth every penny of the 100m we paid.’

Another adds: ‘Declan Rice, Arsenal Player of the Season, it’s a no brainer, then Myles Lewis-Skelly in second place.’

‘Laughable that people questioned Rice being nominated for player of the season. He’s the only reason Arsenal are 2nd in the league right now,’ another states.

One more adds to the sentiment: ‘Declan Rice is undoubtedly Arsenal’s player of the season. Brilliant player.’

Finally, one more writes: ‘Rice is the obvious Player of the Season for Arsenal. It couldn’t be more clear.’

Who was Arsenal’s last Player of the Season?

As of the 2023–24 season, Arsenal’s Men’s Player of the Season was Martin Odegaard. The club captain secured the award for the second consecutive year, receiving 33% of the fan votes.

This year, it’s definitely going to change hands, with Rice the obvious candidate.

His goal against Newcastle United may very well have sealed it. Rice would be a deserving winner of the accolade.
