Mikel Arteta has named his Arsenal team to take on Brighton, with a few changes to his side, some of which are enforced.

The Gunners are just over the halfway point in the Premier League season, with plenty of work to do in chasing down leaders Liverpool.

Arsenal will be looking to enact some revenge on Brighton, with the Seagulls having earned a draw in the reverse fixture.

There was plenty of frustration in the game too, given that Declan Rice saw a red card for delaying the restart – something many disagreed with.

With little motivation needed, form is also on Arsenal’s side, with three wins in their last three Premier League matches, while Brighton are winless in their last seven.

Arsenal team news and injury updates vs Brighton

Mikel Arteta was handed some mixed injury and availability news heading into the clash with Brighton over the weekend.

Jurrien Timber was unavailable through suspension, while injuries ruled out the likes of Bukayo Saka, Raheem Sterling, Ben White and Takehiro Tomiyasu.

Meanwhile, Kai Havertz was expected to return from illness, with the star missing out on the win over Brentford last time out.

When it came to team news, Arteta opted to name Thomas Partey as his replacement for Timber at right-back in the match.

There was no return for Havertz, despite claims that he could be back from illness that he was suffering.

Some surprise at the team revealed that Martin Odegaard was benched along with Gabriel Martinelli, while Ethan Nwaneri starts again.

Brighton team news to face Arsenal

Brighton have been battling with a slight injury crisis within the team, impacting the options available to them.

It means former Arsenal star Danny Welbeck doesn’t feature, along with transfer target Evan Ferguson.

There are starts for Joao Pedro, Joel Veltman and Pervis Estupinan as key players to keep an eye out on.
