Arsenal icon Aaron Ramsey is looking forward to Sunday’s North London Derby at the Emirates.

It’s been a tough time for Ramsey, who has recently become a free agent after terminating his contract at UNAM Pumas following the heartbreak of losing his dog in Mexico.

Having left Mexico, the midfielder is evaluating his next steps, but first, he’s ready to enjoy the upcoming North London Derby.

Ramsey played against Tottenham 15 times during his time at Arsenal, having more of an insight than most ahead of Sunday’s blockbuster in N5.

Aaron Ramsey shares his North London Derby prediction

During his 11-year stay at Arsenal, Ramsey scored some memorable goals, three of which came against Spurs in the derby.

The Welshman won 40% of the North London Derbies he played in and, ahead of Sunday’s clash, believes he will experience another victory for the Gunners.

Speaking on talkSPORT ahead of the game, Ramsey shared his confidence in Mikel Arteta’s side.

“I can’t see anything other than an Arsenal win at the moment,” he said.

“The way they’re playing, I’m really looking forward to it.”

It’s impossible to disagree with the 34-year-old’s confidence, as Spurs haven’t won at the Emirates in the Premier League since 2011, which is still their only league win since the ground opened in 2006.

Ramsey isn’t the only one looking forward to the match, as Thierry Henry will be at the Emirates when Tottenham visit, with plenty of Arsenal legends ready to tune in.

What is your prediction for the North London Derby?

Ramsey’s iconic celebration against Tottenham at Wembley Stadium

Ramsey left his mark in North London, saying goodbye to the derby emphatically, scoring against Tottenham away from home.

The goal was fitting, as Spurs were playing at Wembley Stadium at the time, and Ramsey had experienced some career highs at the venue.

Upon scoring, the Welshman wheeled away in a passionate celebration, saying, “This is my f—— pitch,” as he celebrated.

If the midfielder’s words weren’t enough to make the moment special, Peter Drury’s commentary certainly set the scene.

“One day, Aaron Ramsey will wake up on a bed in Turin, feeling lonely in a foreign land. He will be pleased that he bid goodbye to his beloved Arsenal with a goal against Tottenham at Wembley Stadium.”

Ramsey’s goal came after it was announced that he would leave Arsenal to sign for Juventus at the end of that season.

It was a moment for the Welshman to savour, and one that fans will be re-watching to feel the spirit of Sunday’s match.
