Arsenal pre-season is now officially underway, with a number of first-team players having returned to London Colney.

Arsenal got their pre-season going this week, welcoming players back to the club and quickly getting them back out on the grass and training with Mikel Arteta.

The Gunners started their work early this summer. Even prior to the official commencement of pre-season, Arteta took a number of Arsenal players to Marbella for a training camp.

Of course, not all players have returned to North London. Plenty of Arsenal stars are still enjoying an extended break, having taken part in international tournaments this summer.

Due to this, when the Gunners fly out to America for their pre-season tour on Sunday, they will be doing so without a full-complement of senior players.

This means that there is a window of opportunity for some of the most promising Hale End academy talents to impress Arteta if they are afforded the opportunity to play in the US.

Whilst a number of players are still missing, plenty have returned to work for the club, and will be keen to get the new campaign up and running.

Which Arsenal stars are back in pre-season training?

As evidenced in a behind the scenes video shared by the club, there were several key players back in training straight away upon their return.

Club captain Martin Odegaard was involved, and was joined by Eddie Nketiah, Reiss Nelson, Takehiro Tomiyasu, Thomas Partey, Fabio Vieira, Jurrien Timber, Emile Smith Rowe, and Ben White.

Kieran Tierney was also seen in the video, but was not spotted in training. It has to be assumed that the Scot is still sidelined with injury. Tierney returned to Arsenal early after picking up an injury at Euro 2024.

Ben White produces skill in Arsenal training

Right-back White has clearly come back to the club full of confidence, as he produced a cheeky nutmeg against an unsuspecting coach.

He showed last season, as he was consistently excellent for the Gunners, that he has an element of flair in his game. It is vital for Arteta that he is able to continue firing on all cylinders this season.

Meanwhile, many Arsenal fans are desperate to see White come back into the fold for England, following the departure of Gareth Southgate.
