Arsenal Insider understands that Andrea Berta has internally made it clear to the North London club’s hierarchy that a new deal with Bukayo Saka is now very close.
The 24-year-old is now the next in line to get a new contract from the Gunners as Andrea Berta continues to ensure Mikel Arteta’s best players’ futures are all tied to the Emirates Stadium.
The Italian director has overseen Arsenal agreeing new deals with the likes of William Saliba, Gabriel Magalhaes and Myles Lewis-Skelly over recent months.
Berta is also working on a new deal for Declan Rice, but in terms of Saka, a full agreement now appears to be just a matter of time.

Sources: Arsenal set to make Bukayo Saka the club’s highest earner
Arsenal set to make Bukayo Saka the club’s highest earner by handing him a new contract worth £300,000-per-week, sources have told Arsenal Insider’s transfer expert Graeme Bailey.
The Gunners and Saka held a fresh round of talks over the international break, and there appears to have been strong progress made over a new contract.
Whilst Saka was away impressing for England, his team have been in talks with Berta over committing his future in N5 and the Gunners are now set to secure the future of their most prized asset.
| Player | Weekly wage |
| Kai Havertz | £280,000 |
| Gabriel Jesus | £265,000 |
| William Saliba | £250,000 |
| Martin Odegaard | £240,000 |
| Viktor Gyokeres | £200,000 |
Speaking to Arsenal Insider about the situation, Bailey said: “I’m told talks with Saka’s camp have gone well during the international break, and Andrea Berta has internally made it clear to the club’s hierarchy that a new deal is not far away at all.
“Saka is firmly on course to become the club’s first £300,000-a-week player. Ideally, Arsenal want it signed and sealed by January. The belief is that only finer details are left to be resolved.”
The right winger will overtake Kai Havertz as the club’s top earner and become the first player at the Emirates to earn £300,000-a-week.
Arsenal planning Declan Rice contract talks in 2026
As mentioned after Saka, Rice is the next player set for fresh terms with the Gunners, and talks have been scheduled for the early stages of 2026.
Nothing is yet advanced with the 26-year-old, but Berta is calm about the situation and is planning to jump that bridge in the New Year.
“Declan Rice is one for 2026. It is in hand, Berta knows what needs doing and when,” Bailey told Arsenal Insider.
Despite only joining the club back in March, Berta is loved by Arsenal fans, and it’s clear to see why with all these deals getting done.
