William Saliba has put pen to paper on a new contract at Arsenal to the delight of the club and its supporters.

After a joyous summer in the transfer market, sporting director Andrea Berta has delivered a gift just as exciting as a new signing.

It was revealed that Saliba would sign a new deal at Arsenal, and ever since, fans have been elated.

On Tuesday, the news was made official, as the club announced that the Frenchman’s new contract had been signed, but not everything is rosy.

William Saliba insists he’s still not completely happy at Arsenal

Real Madrid were desperate to sign Saliba, but the defender’s heart was always in N5.

In the past, interest from the Galacticos would’ve filled supporters with fear, but Mikel Arteta has managed to keep arguably his greatest asset around.

Saliba’s new deal means everything to Arsenal, but the defender wants something in return.

Upon penning his new contract, Saliba took part in an interview with Arsenal’s official website, where he admitted he’s not ‘100% happy’ at the club.

“I’m happy now, but not 100% happy because we have to do more,” the Frenchman said.

“We have to win titles, because it’s what we want, what the club wants.”

The 24-year-old’s words were not surprising, as Saliba said his partnership with Gabriel Magalhaes is missing silverware.

Since being integrated into the Arsenal squad, Saliba has been a part of three Premier League title races, and now, he wants to get the job done.

Saliba’s contract is huge for Arsenal

Over the years, Arsenal fans have watched their best players use the club as a stepping stone to bigger things.

Saliba’s new deal has changed the narrative, with the days of Robin van Persie, Cesc Fabregas, and Alexis Sanchez now exiled.

Arteta knew how much interest there was in Saliba, making the Frenchman’s new contract all the more important.

It’s a tremendous feat for Arsenal that the player is completely committed to the project at such a pivotal moment in his career, particularly with Madrid at his door.

Now that the contract is signed, trophies need to follow, with Arsenal desperate to repay their centre-back’s faith.
