Yaya Toure has been full of praise for Arsenal target Antoine Semenyo, as Andrea Berta ramps up the North London club’s transfer plans for January.

Andrea Berta has been brilliant for Arsenal since his arrival back in March, bringing seven new players to the Emirates Stadium over the summer.

The Italian director is not done and is now looking for ways to keep improving Mikel Arteta’s squad heading into the second half of the season.

The Gunners are now targeting Antoine Semenyo, whom Yaya Toure has just said plays very similarly to himself.

Toure has admitted that he is a big fan of Semenyo, and the Arsenal target actually reminds him of himself.

Arsenal Insider understands that Berta is tracking Semenyo, with the Gunners open to signing a left winger.

Arsenal are tracking Semenyo’s situation and are well aware of the winger’s £65 million release clause, which becomes active in January.

Now, Toure, who nearly joined Arsenal in 2003, has named three players he loves to watch: “Semenyo from Bournemouth.

“Sometimes he makes me think he’s a bit like me when I had the ball and I just tried to sprint, or when we were on the counterattack. He is incredible.”

Arsenal are in a strong position PSR-wise, meaning that they could quite easily spend another £65 million to upgrade their left side.

Arsenal fans want Eberechi Eze to play left wing, but adding Semenyo to their squad in January feels like a chance too good to turn down.

The Bournemouth winger has been one of the best attackers in the Premier League this season, and his stats back that up.

He already has nine goal contributions in total, and leads Eze in most key stats, although he has played more minutes than the England international.

Arteta needs to give Eze more minutes on the left wing, but that should give the Gunners enough time to assess whether to move for Semenyo.
