Andy Townsend believes Viktor Gyokeres holds the key to Arsenal winning the Premier League

As per talkSPORT, Townsend believes that Arsenal will win the Premier League this season if they complete a deal for Sporting striker Viktor Gyokeres.

The pundit was asked to name his top four next season and pointed to Arteta’s men coming out on top on the condition the Swedish forward arrived at the club.

Townsend stated: “Top four I’m going to go, I went Arsenal last season and I’m tempted to go with them again this time round.

“If they were to land Gyokeres and he’s given every opportunity to get up and running early then I’m tempted to go with them perhaps just over Liverpool.”

Gyokeres could be open to a loan move with the Gunners currently locked in negotiations over a fee with Sporting, however, there is optimism that the deal will be completed.

Arsenal fans are excited by Gyokeres and they have every reason to be after the 27-year-old has just fired his current Portuguese side to consecutive league titles.

Arteta is under pressure to deliver a trophy next season and in Gyokeres he will have a striker that is no stranger to scoring goals in the important moments.

The Gunners will also be well aware that Gyokeres has been just as potent in front of goal in the Champions League after dismantling Manchester City last campaign.

To win a league title a club has to possess players who can deliver in the big moments. Viktor Gyokeres is a player that has that quality in abundance.
