The story of Arsenal’s Deadline Day has been the sudden push to sign Raheem Sterling on loan from Chelsea.
There were links between the winger and the Gunners leading up to Deadline Day however, Edu has left it late to push for his signature.
Mikel Arteta has worked with Sterling before, which is rumoured to be one contributing factor to the forward’s potential move to North London.
Arteta and Sterling won many accolades together at City and now, could replicate such feats at Arsenal.

What Mikel Arteta thinks of Raheem Sterling
As fans eagerly await the verdict of whether a deal will materialise, the manager has already shared his opinion on the winger.
During Manchester City’s All Or Nothing documentary, Arteta was spotted in deep conversation with Pep Guardiola about Sterling.
The conversation regarded how the Englishman reacted to missing several chances during one of City’s fixtures, to which the pair applauded the player’s attitude.
Guardiola was heard saying to Arteta, “I told him [Sterling], ‘This isn’t a chance you can miss, this is the one you have to score.’”
What Arteta responded will encourage Arsenal fans, as the Spaniard praised the 29-year-old’s ability to continually evolve his game.
“Scoring the goals that he’s scoring, Pep, it’s not because he’s improved on one specific thing but because he’s getting into the right place to score a goal more often.”
Deadline Day move for Sterling was essential for Arsenal
Arteta’s acknowledgement of Sterling’s ability to level up going forward reinforces the strength of his possible arrival at Arsenal.
Heading into Deadline Day, it was essential that the Gunners looked to recruit a new forward, particularly a winger to address the lack of depth in the squad.
The 29-year-old won’t only offer added quality, but also experience, as he could arrive in North London as a four-time Premier League winner amongst many other accolades.
Sterling has one of the best scoring records in the Premier League, coming in third in the active player’s current scoring charts behind only Mohamed Salah and Jamie Vardy.
The coming hours will determine if the Englishman secures a move to Arsenal, in what would be a surprising end to the summer transfer window.
