Ben White shares what Viktor Gyokeres is really like as a person after playing with him at Brighton

Viktor Gyokeres is finally an Arsenal player, and after weeks of speculation, the striker can start to get to know his new teammates.

The Swedish forward will have to adapt to his new surroundings; he’s moving to a new city in a new league at one of the biggest football clubs in the world.

Gyokeres should be a great signing, but making that sort of adjustment isn’t easy. However, Gyokeres does already have one ally in the Arsenal squad.

Indeed, many may not know this, but Ben White and Viktor Gyokeres actually played together at Brighton for a period.

Speaking to Stadium Astro, Ben White has been discussing Gyokeres’ arrival at Arsenal, and he’s shared some insight into what the striker is like as a person.

White spoke about Gyokeres after he signed for Arsenal.

The defender says he’s already spoken to Gyokeres after signing for the club, claiming that he’s an amazing person having spent time with him at Brighton.

Meanwhile, William Saliba has also praised Gyokeres after his move.

“Viktor Gyokeres, a new addition, have you spoken to him?” White was asked.

“Yeah, I’ve seen him tonight, he’s an amazing guy, I’ve known him for a while, and I’m so happy for him and his family to get it done,” White said.

Gyokeres and White knew one another from their time at Brighton, but, sadly, Gyokeres never quite showcased his abilities when he was on the south coast.

Indeed, the striker barely got a sniff when he was at The Amex, and the stats show that when he did play, he didn’t impress all that much.

Of course, these numbers are worrying for Arsenal as Gyokeres has flopped at a Premier League club before, but we’ve seen on numerous occasions how players can leave the league and return better players – for example, Kevin De Bruyne.

White may well be key to helping Gyokeres settle in at Arsenal, and there’s every reason to be excited about
