Arsenal star Ben White has been out of action for the last few weeks after suffering a fresh injury blow that required surgery.

The versatile defender has been known for playing through pain for the Gunners, doing so several times since his switch from Brighton.

However, the latest issue for Ben White is set to keep him sidelined for a matter of months, coming as a blow to Mikel Arteta.

It was confirmed that White needed surgery for an injury issue he had been dealing with for some time and could be put off no longer.

While the star isn’t expected to start for Arsenal for some time, he has been spotted around London Colney around the first team.

Ben White snapped at Arsenal training ground by Oleksandr Zinchenko

While White is out injured, he has been around the training ground as part of his rehabilitation from his time away.

The defender hasn’t been spotted during this period, but Oleksandr Zinchenko gave a little insight with his latest Instagram story.

It featured a picture of White in his casual wear, something that confused his teammate, who captioned it: “Winter. Summer. And who are you this morning? @BenWhite.”

It’s a rare insight into the training ground that isn’t always given, while for White it appears to show him working hard to make a return to action.

Fortunately, the defender doesn’t appear to be wearing anything to help with the injury – such as a brace of boot – which suggests that he may be making progress towards a return.

For the time being though, his absence is being covered well by his teammates, one of which is really starting to impress.

Jurrien Timber is covering Ben White injury well

While White’s absence is far from desired, it hasn’t been felt perhaps as dramatically as it would’ve been last season.

That’s thanks to Jurrien Timber, the versatile defender who has finally managed some game time after his season-ending injury last year.

The Netherlands international is showing plenty of quality, with the ability to play at left-back, right-back and centre-back if needed.

On the right flank, he has covered well for White, showing some top skill and ability in possession as well as defensive phases.

In the Premier League this season, SofaScore has him averaging a 6.85 rating in the Premier League and a 7.18 in the Champions League.

While it’s a positive for Arsenal while White is away, it also creates competition that the pair must work through once he is back in action again.
