Viktor Gyokeres has made a big impression among his teammates at Arsenal since he joined the club.
The Sweden international has added power and presence to Mikel Arteta’s attack, giving the Gunners something different up front.
Gyokeres has come under criticism this season, but his teammates have always had his back because they know what he brings to the team – strength, power and link-up play.
Now, Ben White has hinted at what the striker is referred to as by some of the players – The bouncer!

Since Viktor Gyokeres joined Arsenal, we have seen his teammates call him ‘Vik’.
However, the former Sporting CP man seems to have another nickname behind the scenes, referring to his strength.
In a light-hearted segment alongside David Raya and Christian Norgaard on Arsenal’s social channels, White was asked to compare a few animals to some of his teammates.
The Englishman was given a card, which he read: “Mine is a rhino. Traits – aggression, slow to start, but when hitting top speed, it’s unstoppable. Mentality – move or be moved. The opposition just bounce off him.”
Norgaard quickly suggested Gyokeres as the answer, to which White replied, “They do call him the bouncer,” suggesting that was the striker’s nickname.
All three players then agreed to liken the Swede to a rhinoceros.
Viktor Gyokeres’ strength makes life easier for Arsenal’s other attackers
Gyokeres brings something very different to Arsenal’s forward line because of his physical strength, pace and power.
The 27-year-old often occupies more than one centre-back at the same time, which takes attention away from some of his teammates.
That makes things easier for players like Bukayo Saka, Eberechi Eze and Leandro Trossard, who get more space than they otherwise would.
This is why having a striker with his profile is so important for Arsenal. His presence not only helps him but also improves the entire attacking unit around him.
That is why Gyokeres deserves a lot of praise, much more than he gets.
