Bukayo Saka shares two-word message to Arsenal fans as star reveals huge injury update

Arsenal have been without Bukayo Saka since mid-December, and Mikel Arteta’s side have struggled to cope.

Saka went down holding his hamstring away at Crystal Palace just before Christmas, in an incident that forced him to undergo surgery and spend three months recovering on the sidelines.

In the star winger’s absence, Arsenal’s Premier League title hopes have diminished, although they have been able to secure a place in the last eight of the Champions League.

Real Madrid await in the quarter-final of Europe’s elite competition, and Saka should be back to aid the Gunners’ pursuit of reaching the final four.

Bukayo Saka shares picture of him in Arsenal training

Saka scored nine goals and registered 13 assists prior to his injury, with this return still making him the most productive player in Arsenal’s squad this campaign, despite the lay-off.

Now, he could be set to make more telling contributions to the Gunners’ season, with the Hale End graduate revealing on his Instagram that he’s returned to training, meaning he should be in contention to feature against Los Blancos.

Posting on the social media platform, Saka captioned the image with the words, ‘hello again’.

Arsenal fans will no doubt be delighted to see the wide man back on the grass, with the possibility of him featuring against Fulham next Tuesday now seeming very real.

The North Londoners take on the Cottagers before visiting Goodison Park to face Everton the following week, with these two Premier League matches coming before the Real Madrid showdown.

How will Mikel Arteta reintegrate Bukayo Saka?

Whilst there’s understandably excitement around Saka’s return, the Gunners’ coaching staff will have to carefully re-integrate him.

Three months out with a hamstring issue is a serious lay-off, and he may not be ready to go full pelt for 90 minutes every three days right away.

It’s likely that he starts on the bench against Fulham, gets some minutes against Everton and is ready to start against Real Madrid.

Arteta may then rest Saka against Brentford, keeping him fresh for the second leg at the Bernabeu.

Likely to be deployed off the right again, the England international could be accompanied by Mikel Merino up front and Gabriel Martinelli or Leandro Trossard off the left in a new-look front three.
