Arsenal manager Mikel Arteta is facing a wave of criticism for his approach to the defeat at Liverpool.
Jamie Carragher has questioned Arteta’s mentality after the Spaniard selected a conservative team at Anfield, set up not to lose the match.
Peter Schmeichel claimed Arteta’s style made him angry and has even stated that Arsenal are playing an ‘ugly’ brand of football rather than their usual free-flowing stuff.
With an international break now looming, Arteta has some time to reflect on how best to move forward but Chris Sutton thinks one selection issue will be dominating his thoughts.

Chris Sutton thinks Eberechi Eze should start over Martin Odegaard at Arsenal
Andrea Berta’s transfer business has certainly given Arteta a squad with depth and options all over the pitch.
Gary Neville thought Eberechi Eze looked ‘sharp’ during his substitute appearance against Liverpool and Sutton thinks the England international could now replace Martin Odegaard in the Arsenal starting line-up.
Speaking on the latest episode of the ‘Football Daily’ podcast, Sutton expressed his belief that Eze is a creative upgrade on the Gunners’ skipper.
Sutton stated: “Is Eze an upgrade? I mean, where with Odegaard, he’s nursing his way back in and you sort of understand that, his form hasn’t been exceptional.
“Maybe there’s a slightly different argument with Eze simply, head to head, who would you pick, who’s the better player, who’s more creative.
“I think that that’s a legitimate argument with that, but I’m not saying it’s an easy call to make.”
Odegaard has been described as ‘unique’ by his teammates and is often the leader of Arsenal’s high press in matches.
Whether Eze has the ability to do that from a defensive point of view remains to be seen, however, supporters are asking for the shackles to be removed from Arteta’s side.
Eberechi Eze and Martin Odegaard can work in tandem for Arsenal
Arsenal have struggled to create chances from open play so far this season and the idea that it is either Eze or Odegaard in the line-up may not necessarily be the case.
Kevin Nolan was impressed with Eze and Odegaard against Liverpool and the team immediately looked more of a threat when the duo came on to the pitch.

Eze was deployed off the left but given a licence to drift inside and work with Odegaard to try and feed Viktor Gyokeres.
When Bukayo Saka returns from injury, he can create things on his own down the right flank and all of a sudden, the Gunners could click going forward.
