David Raya has revealed that Gabriel Martinelli is the quickest teammate he has ever played with during his time at Arsenal.
The Brazilian winger has always been renowned for his blistering speed, and now Raya has named him as the Gunners’ fastest player.
Discuss: What is the ideal sale price for Gabriel Martinelli?
It’s not been the easiest season for Martinelli at Arsenal due to injuries and inconsistent form; however, he has a real shot at achieving history with the North London club this month.
Now, Raya has revealed why Martinelli could still be a very useful asset for the Gunners in the final month of the season.
David Raya says Gabriel Martinelli is Arsenal’s quickest player
David Raya has just named Gabriel Martinelli as Arsenal’s quickest player, which will not come as a surprise to many.
The Gunners have some rapid players like Bukayo Saka, Noni Madueke, and Viktor Gyokeres, who is surprisingly quick.
However, Martinelli places ahead of all of them, and the Brazilian international has certainly proved his pace, even this season.
Only Micky van de Ven from Tottenham and Wolves’ Jackson Tchatchoua have recorded faster top speeds than him this season.
👀 Fill in the blank: Arsenal are taking _ points from the final two Premier League matches…
During Arsenal’s win over Newcastle United earlier this season, Martinelli recorded a top speed of 36.74km/h, which places him third in the Premier League.
Now, speaking to Simmy Dhillon, Arsenal’s goalkeeper has confirmed that Martinelli is, in fact, the quickest player he has ever played alongside.
Arsenal need to sell Gabriel Martinelli in the summer
Martinelli could still prove his worth in the final three games of the season, but ultimately, the winger needs to be sold in the summer.
This season in the Premier League, the 24-year-old has netted just one goal all season, which could actually be the all-important one against Man City.
But in the summer, left winger is an area in which Andrea Berta is looking to upgrade, and selling Martinelli could help fund that move.
Bradley Barcola is one of Arsenal’s top targets for the summer, and he could make the switch to the English capital after the Champions League final.
