David Seaman has provided some insight into Arsenal’s potential transfer activity this January.
The Gunners are running out of time to add a forward to their ranks before the February 3rd deadline.
Arsenal eased past Dinamo Zagreb in the Champions League on Wednesday night, although several players looked fatigued in the latter stages of the clash.
The likes of Kai Havertz, Leandro Trossard and Gabriel Martinelli are being overburdened with minutes, and they’re in desperate need of some respite.
Arsenal have made contact with RB Leipzig about the prospect of landing Benjamin Sesko – a sign that the North London club are preparing to step up their pursuit of a forward.

David Seaman claims that Arsenal are attempting to sign a striker
Numerous links to various players are circulating at the moment, but Arsenal fans are starting to grow anxious about the club’s lack of activity in the transfer market.
Alongside Sesko, Matheus Cunha is a target, although there are complications that would make enacting a deal for the Brazilian difficult.
However, former Gunners goalkeeper Seaman has told the Arsenal faithful to rest assured.
Speaking on TalkSPORT on Wednesday, the ex-shot-stopper revealed that he knows that the Emirates hierarchy and Arteta are desperately looking to acquire a striker this month.
He said: “It looks like we’re trying to get a striker but to get a marquee striker, the finished article, in January… that doesn’t happen very often.
“Kai Havertz isn’t an out-and-out striker but he’s scored some important goals. It’s frustrating because I can feel the fans’ frustration growing.
“There’s a few rumblings now because we’re not where we want to be.
“I know for a fact that they’re trying like mad to get one but whether it will be now or the summer, I don’t know.
“There’s ones in the pipeline so we will have to wait and see if they get done.”

Arsenal should sign Victor Osimhen
While the likes of Cunha, Sesko and Dusan Vlahovic continue to be the most pertinently linked name with Arsenal, the Gunners should look elsewhere for a proven goal-scorer.
Victor Osimhen is available for £63 million, and Arsenal should be pouncing on this market opportunity.
The Nigerian is on loan from Napoli at Galatasaray, but has a break clause in his contract which would allow him to cut the temporary deal short and move somewhere else.
| Victor Osimhen’s Serie A Statistics 2023/34 | |
| Appearances | 25 |
| Goals | 15 |
| Assists | 3 |
| Shots Per 90 | 3.86 |
| Expected Goals Per 90 | 0.7 |
| Key Passes Per 90 | 1.19 |
| Expected Assists Per 90 | 0.04 |
| Touches in Opposition Box Per 90 | 8.14 |
Netting 31 goals for Napoli in the 2022/23 season, Osimhen has showcased his capacity to find the back of the net at a prolific rate in the past.
This goal-scoring record, along with his immense physicality which is suited to the Premier League, makes him the perfect man to lead the line for Arsenal.
With Martin Odegaard feeding the 26-year-old with immaculate through-balls, taking advantage of Osimhen’s elusive movement, the Gunners’ attack can become a force to be reckoned with once again.
Arsenal may never get a better opportunity to sign a player of the former Lille man’s calibre.
