Arsenal are actively seeking reinforcements to their frontline as injuries and a dip in form has cost the club in recent weeks.

Mikel Arteta’s side have been linked with a host of attacking names in the January window, the latest being Arsenal’s interest in Mohamed Amoura from German side Wolfsburg.

It is also believed that Arsenal have made contact with Matheus Cunha amid reports that his contract negotiations with Wolves have stalled.

Fabrizio Romano has given a fresh update on the situation of Cunha, with fans excited at the prospect of the versatile Brazilian forward given that he has already proven himself at Premier League level.

Fabrizio Romano says Matheus Cunha’s situation is ‘one to watch’

Speaking via his X account, Romano has claimed that Cunha’s contract situation with Wolves is ‘one to watch’ until the end of January.

He stated that with the deal not yet being formally signed, Arsenal are amongst clubs that are monitoring the situation and could make their interest more concrete.

Cunha played 90 minutes in his side’s 3-1 defeat at Stamford Bridge but was visibly frustrated at times with the efforts of his team mates – most notably in the second half when Jorgen Strand Larsen failed to find Cunha for a goal scoring opportunity.

That frustration then led to a rather interesting incident at full time involving Cunha, an incident which has prompted strong words from his manager.

Vitor Pereira criticises Cunha body language following Chelsea defeat

Matheus Cunha headed straight down the tunnel following the defeat to Chelsea and his manager Vitor Pereira has claimed that Cunha has become distracted.

The Wolves manager had some strong words for his Brazilian star post match. He stated via The Athletic, “I don’t like this body language. I want someone as a captain trying to help the team, running, suffering, fighting, together.”

Pereira also then went on to claim that he would not accept such behaviour in the future, he stated: “This frustration is something that I can understand. Next time I will not understand.”

Cunha could add a lot of experience and firepower to Arsenal’s attack should they be able to take advantage of his uncertainty and strike a deal with the relegation strugglers.
