Arsenal are currently reaping the rewards of their excellent academy system with young talent from Hale End performing wonders for the first team.

Joe Cole has compared Ethan Nwaneri to Lionel Messi and called him the country’s ‘best young player’ following his man-of-the-match display against Leicester City.

Arsenal fans were impressed Myles Lewis-Skelly’s clearance in that victory at The King Power Stadium and he has also been earning plaudits for his excellent showings since breaking into the Arsenal first team squad.

Bukayo Saka is targeting a return from injury in March and is perhaps the most famous Hale End graduate currently but not every player chooses to stay at Arsenal after their academy ventures. One recent departure has just made their debut for rivals Manchester United.

Manchester United fans impressed with Ayden Heaven’s debut for u21 side v Fulham

Ayden Heaven joined Manchester United in the January window having made his way through the Arsenal youth ranks and played in the Carabao Cup this season for the Gunners.

Heaven was on the bench for Manchester United’s 1-0 defeat at Tottenham Hotspur and then made his debut for the Red Devils in the U21 side’s 1-0 defeat to Fulham.

The defender played 45 minutes and was booked just before half time however, United fans were impressed by the youngster and one aspect of his game in particular.

One United fan took to X and wrote: “Like the look of Heaven tonight don’t think it will be long before Ruben gives him a go.”

Another fan wrote: “Looked really comfortable on the ball and seemed a class above the rest. Wouldn’t be surprised if he makes his first-team debut soon.”

Max Dowman could be next in line to make Arsenal first team debut

Max Dowman is another name that has been impressing in the Arsenal academy and he recently went on the mid-season break to Dubai with the first team.

Mikel Arteta has shown Dowman his route to the Arsenal first team however, Premier League rules prevent the 15-year-old star from making his debut this season.

Arsenal’s squad would be in disarray if it wasn’t for the emergence of the likes of Nwaneri and Lewis-Skelly this season and Dowman will be looking to also make his mark in the coming years.

For as long as the Gunners are producing the talent they are from their Hale End academy, they will feel confident of staying amongst Europe’s elite in the years to come.
