Football agents are now all saying the same thing about Arsenal’s transfer methods, it’s very frustrating

Arsenal’s sporting director Andrea Berta is putting in the work to get Mikel Arteta’s squad in order. 

A lot is riding on the 2025/26 campaign after the Gunners failed to win the Premier League title for three consecutive seasons.

Arteta is desperate to bolster his squad, and fortunately, Berta is impressing on the transfer front to make things happen.

Already, Arsenal have completed four new signings, with two expected to follow promptly in the form of Cristhian Mosquera and Viktor Gyokeres.

How agents feel about working with Arsenal 

Hindsight has shown that Edu Gaspar’s exit in November was a blessing in disguise for Arsenal. 

Berta has worked skillfully to land some of Arsenal’s new signings, but the process is rarely a quick one. 

That’s the thought of those on the other side of negotiations, as journalist Sam Dean explained on the Ranks FC podcast. 

“One thing I’ve been told by quite a few agents in the last couple of years is that Arsenal, of all clubs, are really hot on the details and going through the paperwork and like the lawyers go through it with a really fine-tooth comb.”

Dean went on to share his opinion that the way Arsenal enter negotiations is ‘great’, with the attention to detail something that fans would appreciate.

That being said, it was noted that when it comes to the Gunners, deals do tend to ‘take a bit longer’ to get over the line, which to supporters, is frustrating.

“This is the view of people in the industry who have dealt with them,” Dean continued.

“Generally speaking, deals do take a bit longer to get done with Arsenal than they do with other clubs.”

Arsenal’s stance epitomises the Viktor Gyokeres deal

Rushing is never good in any sense on the transfer front…just look at Raheem Sterling’s failed move to Arsenal. 

Despite that, some deals can be rather tedious, as Arsenal are starting to realise with Gyokeres. 

Sporting CP are standing firm, but in true Arsenal fashion, the Gunners are hoping to get a good deal from the Portuguese champions, making the saga drag on.

Arteta wanted a new striker in for the pre-season tour of Asia, but it looks unlikely that it will happen now, as matters on the Gyokeres front have gone rather quiet in recent weeks. 

While things are moving slowly, the transfer looks as though it’s nearing its conclusion, as Berta continues to work to strengthen Arteta’s options.
