Arsenal are gearing up for a big summer transfer window.

Andrea Berta has been announced as the new sporting director, and the pressure is on the Italian to deliver before the start of next campaign.

Mikel Arteta claimed in his press conference before the Fulham game that he is anticipating an exciting summer window and suggested big signings.

Arsenal have been linked with several huge names in recent months, but there are reservations from some about almost everyone.

Darren Bent questions Arsenal target Martin Zubimendi

Arsenal are expected to strengthen multiple areas of their squad.

The North Londoners’ priority has to be a new striker, while a new wide player – someone who can play on both flanks – is a necessity too.

With Thomas Partey and Jorginho set to leave, at least one new midfielder is essential as well, and another goalkeeper is a requirement too after Neto heads back to his parent club.

In attack, Arsenal apparently have reservations over Benjamin Sesko, while previously, the Gunners weren’t convinced by Viktor Gyokeres either.

Now, Darren Bent has joined many Arsenal fans by raising concerns over Martin Zubimendi joining the club in the summer window.

After saying Arsenal need a new holding midfielder, Bent claimed on talkSPORT: “I love Thomas Partey. I think, this season, his form has been brilliant. But you have to look long term.

“They’re talking about Zubimendi… I have reservations, mate. I know he’s a good player, I thought he was brilliant in the second half of the Euro final, when he came on for Rodri.

“But, the Premier League is a different animal. You have to be able to run, be strong, get your foot in at times. I’m not sure (about Zubimendi).”

Many people are wrong about Zubimendi

Watching Zubimendi a handful of times is not enough to be convinced about his ability.

The Spaniard, very similar to Manchester City’s Ballon d’Or winner Rodri, goes about his game quietly and does everything he has to do without any fuss.

He is not a flashy player who attracts eyes, but he is someone who gets the job done and helps the team in more ways than one.

For those who need further proof that he is brilliant, several top clubs, including Real Madrid, Barcelona, Bayern Munich and also Liverpool have tried extremely hard to sign Zubimendi in the past.

Clubs like the above will not be in for a player if he isn’t good enough.
