Arsenal have one reservation about Benjamin Sesko despite being long-time admirers of the striker.
Sesko is aware of Arsenal’s interest in him as the Slovenian’s representatives were invited to the Emirates amid speculation.
The 21-year-old has been impressing in the Bundesliga with RB Leipzig, opening the door to a possible summer transfer.
Though Sesko has been on Arsenal’s transfer list for some time, the arrival of new sporting director Andrea Berta could change the Gunners’ vision.

Arsenal have one reservation about Benjamin Sesko
Berta was unveiled by Arsenal following the March international break, seeing the Italian arrive at a poignant time ahead of the summer window.
Shortly after the announcement, it was revealed that Viktor Gyokeres is on Arsenal’s radar as a top striker transfer target.
It’s understood that Berta is an admirer of Gyokeres, placing the Swede above others in the list, including Sesko.
Following the news, The Athletic delved into Arsenal’s interest in other targets, Alexander Isak and Sesko, highlighting one reservation that the North Londoners have about the Slovenian.
The report noted that Arsenal are ‘strongly considering’ Sesko and have followed his development ‘closely’ but questions are being asked about his suitability to the Premier League.
The Athletic revealed that Arsenal have ‘reservations’ about the 21-year-old’s ‘readiness’ to make an instant impact in the English top flight.
Transfer approach is already encouraging
It may be a coincidence that talk around Arsenal’s striker targets is building following Berta’s arrival; however, it’s a relief to see that the Gunners’ vetting process is changing.
Arteta wants a player to come in and make a difference in his Arsenal squad, as communicated by reservations surrounding Sesko.

Last summer, the North Londoners signed Raheem Sterling, a player whose impact in the Premier League was doubtful given that Chelsea had no desire to keep the winger in their plans.
The 2024 window ultimately set Arsenal up to fail in their pursuit of the Premier League title, leaving Arteta with limited depth and, even more alarmingly, limited quality.
That won’t be the case this summer, particularly with Berta in charge, who has arrived at Colney with an idea of who fits the bill and who doesn’t.
