Arsenal have been blessed with many top strikers over the years.

Thierry Henry is the club’s all-time leading goal scorer with 228 goals during his time in North London, breaking the previous record set by Ian Wright.

Dennis Bergkamp and Robin Van Persie feature high on Arsenal’s greatest striker list and more recently Pierre-Emerick Aubameyang was lethal in front of goal at the Emirates Stadium.

New sporting director Andrea Berta is a big fan of Viktor Gyokeres as a new centre forward is at the top of his summer transfer wish list but it is a former Gunners striker who is currently enjoying the limelight after scoring a stunning free kick.

Olivier Giroud scores free kick for Los Angeles FC

Olivier Giroud scored 105 goals in 253 appearances at the Gunners after being signed by Arsene Wenger from Montpellier in France.

The striker joined MLS side Los Angeles FC in July 2024 and has caught the eye at his new club with a sublime free kick against Portland.

Fan have noticed one thing however following the incredible strike, that was Giroud’s first MLS goal since making the switch from AC Milan.

Many supporters believe a player with his quality and track record in scoring goals across Europe’s biggest leagues should be doing better in America.

Olivier Giroud should be considered amongst Arsenal greats

With over 100 goals for the club and three FA Cup winners medals, Giroud should be considered in the same bracket as the likes of Van Persie and Aubameyang when it comes to historic Gunners forwards.

Henry, Bergkamp and Wright are the top three for most supporters but Giroud’s ability to score both spectacular and important goals for the club was unquestionable.

Gary Neville praised Giroud recently by claiming that Arsenal would have won the Premier League this season had Mikel Arteta had a player like the Frenchman in his squad.
