Arsenal defender Ben White is as committed as they come for his club however, the fullback has a similar view on England.
White has had problems with Steve Holland in the past, explaining why the 27-year-old is reluctant to be open to an England call-up.
There’s no denying that the Arsenal defender is at the level to represent his country however, he’s not in a rush to add to his four caps.
Given the change in hierarchy at St Georges Park, there’s hope that White will consider playing for England in the future, something that would certainly benefit Thomas Tuchel.

Harry Kane could alert Ben White with England message
Mikel Arteta hinted that the English Arsenal players are excited by Tuchel’s hiring, with there still a conversation regarding White’s future involvement.
The latest round of international fixtures sees no Arsenal stars in action for the Three Lions as Declan Rice and Bukayo Saka were withdrawn from the England squad.
Nine England players have withdrawn from the squad, leading captain Harry Kane to share his thoughts on his colleagues’ priorities.
“I think England comes before club, England is the most important thing you play as a professional footballer,” Kane said to ITV Football.
“Gareth was hot on that and he wasn’t afraid to make decisions on certain players.
“It’s a shame this week obviously, it’s a tough period of the season and maybe it’s been taken advantage of a little bit, as I said, England becomes before any club situation.”
The Tottenham Hotspur legend took aim at those not on international duty, with some of his words able to be translated as a subtle dig at players such as White, who is very much a club-over-country figure.
White considering England return
As Tuchel prepares to take the reigns in January, there are suggestions that the Arsenal right-back’s stance could change.
Reports claim that White is considering his England return, with the change in hierarchy seemingly appealing to the former Brighton ace.
| Date | Opponent | Result |
| 02/06/2021 | Austria | 1-0 win |
| 06/06/2021 | Romania | 1-0 win |
| 26/03/2022 | Switzerland | 2-1 win |
| 29/03/2022 | Ivory Coast | 3-0 win |
International football could return in the near future for the 27-year-old, who could offer the German coach a fresh option on the right side of his back line.
It wasn’t long ago that White rejected Gareth Southgate’s call-ups, making Tuchel’s arrival potentially a game-changer for Arteta’s star man.
For now, the Three Lions’ endeavours in November are of little interest to those in N5, with no representation of the Gunners currently at St Georges Park.
