Arsenal’s striker troubles have led to many wondering what could’ve been if the side made different moves in the transfer market.
With Gabriel Jesus and Kai Havertz both injured, there has been a lack of out-and-out centre-forward options available.
Mikel Arteta has mainly opted for Mikel Merino as a striker, with the midfielder managing to score three goals in that position so far.
While Arsenal look at how they can solve problems now, there is a tinge of regret surrounding a player they let go in the summer.
Striker Mika Biereth left Arsenal for just £4million last summer, joining Sturm Graz as one for the future.
His impressive performances didn’t keep him there for long, with Biereth joining AS Monaco and moving from strength to strength there.
Those displays aren’t just catching the eye of his old club but with international teams as well.

Mika Biereth eyed for England call-up after Arsenal exit
Since leaving Arsenal, Mika Biereth has continued to get in the headlines for the goals he has bagged while in France.
The striker has ten goals in seven Ligue 1 appearances this season, scoring three hat-tricks for his side in the process.
While Mikel Arteta may regret missing out on a chance to start the 22-year-old, there is still a big decision to make on the international stage.
Biereth is able to represent four different nations, with Denmark, England, Germany and Bosnia Herzegovina as the sides he can feature for.
So far, a senior call-up has yet to occur for any of those sides, but teams are starting to sit up and take notice.
That includes England, under new manager Thomas Tuchel, as the Daily Mail reports that the FA have been alerted to his form.
The 22-year-old’s availability to play for the Three Lions is well known, though there is uncertainty over whether he will pick to represent them.
So far in his career, Biereth has played for the Denmark under-21s, suggesting he could lean towards them.

What Mika Biereth has said about his international career
So Biereth is approaching a moment where he will have to decide on his international career and which team he will represent.
With four teams to pick from, the striker has claimed he is open to picking whichever team further down the line.
He told the press in early March: “Coming here [Monaco] and being here a month and a half, I didn’t think these were questions that were going to be asked then but you know, they seem to be getting asked now.
“As soon as you’re doing well in club football, international football takes care of itself. I am going to keep working hard for my club.
“I am in a unique situation. Not many are eligible to represent four countries. Not four random countries either.
“My mum was born and raised in Bosnia, my dad is half-Danish, half-German and I have lived in England so it is a unique situation.”
It remains to be seen who Biereth could pick, but his fine form is certainly forcing him into the conversation for some nations.
